Adventures in Berlin (Eetu ja Ari)

During our first day in Berlin, we visited Alexanderplatz, which was an area full of shops, bars and restaurants. That day was very warm and sunny, those of who wee of age were drinking beer and wine together in the park by the river. When we were in Berlin we stayed at a hostel called the Heart of Gold, which was a reference to a book called The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
The second day in Berlin wasn’t as sunny or warm as the day before. We started the day going on a tour around some of the most famous landmarks of Berlin: the Berlin Wall and the memorial site dedicated to the Jewish people killed during the Holocaust. After the tour we went to the Zoo where we saw various animals from different continents.
On the third day we walked through the city to take a look at the deals at the Turkish street market, where the selection consisted mostly of fresh vegetables, rolls of cloth and for-us-strange-looking bread with seeds on top. The visit to the market was not as easy as we had thought it would be, we were thinking that it would be a simple 4,5-kilometer walk from the hotel to the market, but it turned out that Berlin is constantly under construction, as a result, we came across at least five different construction sites that were blocking the way to the market place. In the afternoon, we went to the DDR Museum, which contained some items from the days when Berlin was divided into two.
