Checking out Prague (Sami and Camilla)

We arrived to Prague after eight hours of traveling. In the afternoon and evening we went to check out the metro. After some figuring out and the advice of a friendly local, we managed to buy metro tickets. Our restaurant was in the Old Town near the castles and to our surprise people were allowed to smoke inside the restaurant. This proved to be common practice in the Czech Republic, but it's about to change.

On the second day we were touring around the Old Town to see historical sights such as the Charles Bridge, the astronomical clock and the Prague Castle. The old stone structures were beautiful to watch and the statues of the Charles Bridge were made well and they were interesting. So many handsome men in uniforms were guarding the Prague Castle yard. Too bad there were so many stairs up there, 250 stairs to be exact. We went back to the hotel with the tram number 22 and saw even more important sights.

In the evening we went out to eat and found a nearby mall, Flora, which wasn't that big but many of us found something from there, like makeup and clothes.

On the third day in Prague we went to see a horse statue hanging upside down from the ceiling. At the same time we saw a political cartoon art exhibition, which was a nice addition. After that we went shopping and browsed through so many clothing and makeup stores. We then rested at the hotel. The weather was warm and sunny, so many of us went to a balcony to get some sun after our long and dark winter.

Around six in the evening we headed to our group dinner in the Old Town. For appetizers we had either goulash or beef soup. As the main course we could choose between cheese, potatoes and vegetables or beef, dumplings and whipped cream. Turns out we shouldn't have been able to choose the main course and this resulted us staying at the restaurant for three hours. For dessert we had apple strudel, unfortunately without the whipped cream.

All in all, Prague was a nice city with great public transport, but Prague being a big city we only got a scratch from the surface.
